Our Vision -

You know those staged portraits with the mottled background that is so popular with most photo studios? You know the ones, where no one really looks like they want to be there, and the subjects are in unnatural positions that you'd never find them in. Where their smiles are forced and phony.

At Burning House Studios we are working to turn your preconceived notion of the studio portrait upside down.

Here's how we're doing it::

We're coming to you. We know how much more comfortable you are in you own home. We also know how valuable your time is and above all how difficult it is to get all members of your family together at the same time. We will come to your house with our studio lighting and studio backdrops and turn your home into a pro studio. Now you can relax, be yourselves, change your clothes, grab a prop and become the subjects of a lasting family masterpiece.

We're getting rid of the staged poses. While we may give you some direction here and there, there will be much less forced posing. We want to get more natural images of you and your family enjoying each other.

We're open to client ideas and props. Is there something that defines your family? Is there an activity that you enjoy doing together? If we incorporate it into your photograph, the photo will take on more of your personality and what distinguishes your family from any other.

For full studio backdrop setup we need at least 10' X 20' of open floor space. Otherwise we will need to go for a more environmental style of portrait.
